Tessenderlo Group is active in the water treatment business with products like ferric chloride, aluminium chloride, zinc chloride and sodium hypochlorite: products and applications.

Tessenderlo Group produces industrial chemicals in in Loos, near Lille in the northern part of France and in Italy, at Pieve Vergonte, north of Milan.

Tessenderlo Group plays a major role in the collection and processing of animal by-products, most notably via our French subsidiary, Akiolis, which has achieved national stature in the market. Our activities in the rendering business consist of the collection and valorisation of animal by-products, effectively turning waste products into valuable alternatives.

Our operations in this area can be grouped into two distinct and complementary sectors:

The first activity centres on the collection and treatment of risk waste for the sanitary protection of the stock breeding chain. This waste is then valorised by its use as an energy source in both the cement industry and our own heating installations.

Secondly, the group is able to valorise animal by-products fit for human consumption by turning them into gelatins, proteins for use in pet food, fats for use in the soap industry or animal proteins for fertilisers.
