Plastics
Tessenderlo Group is a producer of VCM (vinyl chloride monomer) and Suspension PVC (polyvinyl chloride).
The affiliate LVM (Limburgse Vinyl Maatschappij) produces VCM at its Belgian production site in Tessenderlo, which has a capacity of 550,000 tons.
The VCM is transported from Tessenderlo to the group's PVC production units in Beek (The Netherlands) and France (Mazingarbe). The joint total capacity for the 2 plants is 480,000 tons.
The PVC is produced under suspension polymerisation (S-PVC) and is marketed under the MarvylanÒ tradename by LVM. Different qualities are available ranging from K-value 57 to 75 available for rigid and flexible PVC applications.
For 20 years the group has actively pursued a downstream integration policy in the plastics market and as such, has strengthened its market position with the acquisition of a number of PVC converters in Europe and the United States.
Tessenderlo Group focuses its plastics converting activities on the production of PVC profiles, plastic pipe systems and specialised compounds, which are used in the production of a range of everyday products such as credit cards, packaging, shower curtains, fences, electric cabling and furniture and in the automotive industry for the manufacturing of dashboard skin, airbag covers and interior trim.
In keeping with our business goal of eco-efficient production methods, Tessenderlo Group is a keen member of Vinyl 2010, a voluntary commitment by the European PVC industry to sustainable development and PVC recycling. As a major producer of plastics, we are pleased to be able to integrate sustainability into every area of our business as one of our long-term goals.
