Automotive interior design is faced with ever increasing end-user expectations in terms of style and comfort. At the same time component manufacturers are demanding cost-effective solutions using materials that are easy to process and recycle.
MARVYFLO® is a range of free-flowing powder compounds for the slush moulding of instrument panel skins and other interior automotive surfaces.
They offer supreme design freedom, a stress-free configuration, and an unmatched cost-performance ratio combined with a soft leather-like touch.
Furthermore MARVYFLO® allows:
very efficient raw-material utilization
short processing cycles
ease of recycling together with excellent temperature stability
low fogging
good UV resistance.
MARVYFLO® is a member of Autovinyle, Association for developing the recycling of PVC in the Automotive Industry.
Production Process
In the slush-moulding process, a free-flowing compound is poured into a preheated mould, thus instantly forming a solid skin with a remarkably uniform thickness on the inner surface of the mould.
After the excess powder has been recovered, gelation and fusion of the retained layer are completed by a further heat treatment. The mould is cooled sufficiently to remove the skin for further finishing or final assembly of the desired end product.
In the double-slush moulding process, a second layer is added in the mould just before the final heat treatment. This second compound generally contains a blowing agent, thus creating a product with a solid outer skin and a foamed inner one.
Applications for MARVYFLO® include door panels, consoles, instrument panels and other soft interior parts.
MARVYFLO®: defining state-of-the-art in automotive interiors for almost 20 years.
