Sulphuric acid

Sulphuric acid is a strong acid with hygroscopic characteristic and oxidizing properties.

Tessenderlo Group is a major producer, consumer and vendor of sulphuric acid.
The group uses large quantities of this acid for the production of potassium sulphates in its Mannheim furnaces. Different qualities of aqueous sulphuric acid solutions are available from Tessenderlo Group.
They are generally divided into three groups: 10 - 42 Bé, 60 Bé and 66 Bé (degrees Baumé).
The 66 Bé quality has a concentration (by weight) of 98.8 % during summer and of 96.5 % during winter.

Sulphuric acid is also sold in the fertiliser, chemical, synthetic textile and pigment industries.
Other spheres of application include the manufacture of batteries and many more industrial manufacturing processes.
