Tessenderlo Group Signs Up To VinylPlus
VinylPlus is a new industry wide voluntary agreement on the sustainable production and use of PVC that succeeds the earlier Vinyl 2010 code.
VinylPlus also aims to improve on existing recycling rates of PVC and support the development of recycling technologies, while improving energy efficiencies and the use of renewable energy in PVC production. It replaces Vinyl2010 agreement that successfully recycled an extra 200,000 tonnes of PVC waste in the 10 years of its existence.
New targets, set by VinylPlus, mean that 800,000 tonnes of PVC will be recycled each year by 2020 with 100,000 tonnes being treated by new technologies that can tackle products that have been difficult to recycle until now.
VinylPlus's ambitions meet with those of Tessenderlo Group and its focus on economic and environmental sustainability.
