Job description

Role Description:
As the Human Resources Supervisor at Tessenderlo Kerley, you will be a critical member of the HR leadership team and be a dedicated partner to the business and leadership. You will be responsible for enhancing culture and employee engagement as the HR Supervisor and be an employee advocate helping to resolve employee concerns and promote a positive work environment.
As the HR Supervisor, you will administer human resource policies and programs and direct the HR staff in managing and implementing programs that support employee productivity and company objectives. In addition, you will provide day-to-day oversight of various human resource functions critical to the organization, and recruitment, including employee relations, health and safety, compensation, benefits, training, employee engagement, and employee records.
As part of the leadership team, you will supervise and train staff that provides operational and administrative support for recruitment, onboarding, and other HR functions and programs. You will also be accountable for developing consistent and standard procedures to process employment, attendance, and other records, ensure accuracy and make day-to-day decisions within a small department.

What you will do:
- Partner with the VP of Human Resources to understand and execute the organization's human resource strategy and maintain legal, regulatory, and contractual obligations
- Partner with HR leaders to plan, develop, and implement HR initiatives
- Manage and/or coordinate all human resource systems, procedures, and processes in the HRIS platform
- Manage, develop, and coach a team of HR professionals
- Verify that all new employees complete the necessary paperwork to comply with government and company mandates
- Administer employee benefits and wellness programs
- Develop and maintain company policies
- Measure and report metrics monthly/quarterly
- Handles employee and manager inquiries on policy, procedures, processes, workplace complaints, and investigations
- Conduct investigations and develop reports regarding EEO/harassment, general workplace complaints, or performance management
- Develop and expedite recommendations to the Center of Excellence to improve HR processes
- Be the Face of HR to bring the desired employee experience to life by partnering with HR Leaders and HR Partners on people practices and process execution

- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations, including but not limited to mandatory posting updates, form requirements, and training records

- Develop proficiency in HR software tools and programs
Profile
What we need from you:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management or a related field (master's preferred).
- PHR SPHR or / SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP is a plus
- 5-7 years of hands-on experience as an HR Generalist, with a heavy emphasis on employee relations and benefits
- Two or more years of extensive knowledge of HR laws and regulations within the state of California
- Knowledge and in-depth understanding of multi-state employment laws and wage & hour requirements
- Experience with EEO/harassment investigation and general workplace complaint resolution.
- Strong moral, integrity, and ethical code
- Proven coaching and conflict resolution skills
- Knowledge and experience in benefits administration
- Strong oral, written communication and presentation skills
- Ability to design and drive company programs independently to completion
- Self-confidence and the ability to act independently while being able to influence stakeholders at varying levels effectively
- Competency in Microsoft Office, business management, and presentation tools
- Knowledge of UKG or other HRIS experience is a plus
- Strong analytical skills
- Strong administrative skills
